I'll outline here how I typically find things on the Internet.
1. What? A search engine is the usual starting point. For speed of searching and relevance nothing outdoes the Google engine.
Google will not only search the web but it also has the very useful Groups archive. This stores all the discussions in thousands of active newsgroups. This is where you'll find real people discussing and talking about many topics. If you have a question that needs answering it is quite likely that someone has already asked it in a newsgroup before you. Searching the Groups for your question can often reveal replies from people that will have answered it.
As a help, below find a search text box where you can search either Google's web or group archive.
2. How? Having a good search engine is start but how to use it well? Typically you will get far more results than you are looking for. .... to be continued |
